We’re also going to talk about how to craft your USP. This way, you can make sure that your product or service stands out from your competitors.
Here are 5 tips on how to craft your own USP.
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Before you craft your USP, you need to define who you will be talking to. You need to know who the message is for.
𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀. What are the problems that your product or service will be solving for your customers? Try stepping into your customer’s shoes so you can answer this one.
𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀. What are the unique benefits that your product or service has? List down 3-5 unique benefits from your customer’s perspective.
𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲. What do you promise to do for your customers given the benefits of your product or service?
𝗠𝗶𝘅 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. Once you have the answers to 1-4, combine all of them together to create your USP. You can start by writing at least a paragraph to make sure that all elements are there. Once you have a solid message, then start beefing it up and cutting it into a shorter punchier USP.
