“You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied by life.” ―Heather Schuck
This quote made me stop and think for a moment…and it’s true isn’ t it?
A life that is only filled by concerns about JUST work will just end up with burn-out.
And in the end, there is no satisfaction to that.
The key to this problem is balance, I think – finding that sweet spot to get to enjoy all areas of our life. Another key is really loving the work that you do so it doesn’t feel like work at all.
At Learns the team really works well together and we enjoy what we do, so we’re lucky because work does not feel like work. And I think this shines through in every project we take.
Going back to the point, even if you are lucky enough to be in a job you love, having a work-life balance is still a must!
Here are some guidelines to help develop the skill of maintaining balance both for work and family and personal life.
There’s no hard rule and no “right” way to do it – a work-life balance for one might not be the same for another. Find a balance and schedule that works for you.
Set YOUR boundaries and stick to them – whatever you choose for a balance of time for work and personal life, stick to it. This is where discipline comes in.
Carve out time for self and for relationships – a successful work life is good but making time for yourself and personal relationships should be a priority, too.
Plan & manage time wisely – these two skills are essential to a good work life balance.
Seem simple but really a challenge to attain.
But, as Michael Altshuler said “the bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.”
